This week's VIDÉOTHÈQUE is much more focused on visuals than the last two. Since I can remember I've always been drawn to animated movies that show the futuristic side of big cities, with big billboards and colorful lights. All of these movies are just exactly that.

I've been a fan of Mamoru Oshii's Ghost in the Shell since way before the American movie remake with Scarlett Johansson was announced and I decided to re-watch them just because I wanted to see a movie that made me be close to having a seizure (hence: Enter the Void, which to be quite honest, changed me for a couple of weeks).

I also watched Akira for the first time ever (I know, I'm late to the party) and now I understand the big hype around it. It's one of the most amazing Japanese animated movies I've seen in my life.

El VIDÉOTHÈQUE de esta semana está mucho más concentrada en el aspecto visual de las películas, a diferencia que las dos anteriores entregas. Desde que recuerdo, siempre he estado atraído a las películas que muestran un lado futurista de las grandes ciudades, con enormes vallas luminosas y luces de colores. Todas estas películas muestran exactamente eso.

He sido fanático de Ghost in the Shell de Mamoru Oshii desde antes que el remake con Scarlett Johansson fuera anunciado y decidí volver a verlos sólo porque tenía ganas de ver algo que me mantuviera cercano a sufrir un ataque epiléptico (razón por la cual volví a ver Enter the Void, que, para ser bastante honesto, me cambió la perspectiva de la vida por unas cuantas semanas)

También vi Akira por primera vez (sí, ya sé que llego tarde a la fiesta) y ahora entiendo la gran emoción que lo rodea. Es, sin duda, una de las mejores animaciones japonesas que he visto en mi vida.
